Bonny Waters-Mullins

Bonny at workIn the hot blue flame of a torch, Bonny Waters-Mullins works rods of colorful glass into wearable works of art. Raised in the coastal and intermountain west, Bonny’s love and appreciation of the natural beauty of those areas shapes her craft.

Bonny was first exposed to glass and the art of beadmaking by a lampwork artist whom she met at an art festival in 2003. It was a 3-day show and Bonny was there every day, admiring nearly every bead on display.  She was absolutely mesmerized by the glass. She began imagining what she might do with molten glass…the endless possibilities of shapes and colors.

With a little luck she was soon able to set up her own glass studio and start experimenting, trying painstakingly to create with fire and glass what she had pictured in her head. Hundreds of mistakes, piles of glass, and endless questions were her school.  Glass and hot flame both humble and amaze Bonny.

Bonny moved to Salt Lake City from Flagstaff soon after meeting her talented and supportive husband Trent. She now fabricates torchworked glass beads and sterling silver to create one-of-kind art pieces for you to enjoy, wear, and treasure forever.

Inspired and taught by noted artists Von Schroeder, Kristen Frantzen-Orr and Doug Remschneider, Bonny’s one-of-a-kind creations are both whimsical and stunningly beautiful. Her jewelry is available in select boutiques and galleries around the country.
