Jim Woodward is an award winning landscape artist who was raised in the small town of Jackson Wyoming. He spent his youth hiking, fishing and working out of doors in the shadows of the Tetons, some of the most spectacular mountains in the world, where his Grandfather had homesteaded in the late 1800’s. He says that becoming an Artist always seemed like a natural thing to do for someone growing up in that beautiful country. In 1977 he retired and moved to Utah where he continues to find an ample supply of colorful vistas and high mountain peaks that will keep him painting for the rest of his life.
As a self-taught Artist (if there is such a thing) Jim has spent years studying the art of our best contemporary landscape painters as well as attending workshops conducted by two of the finest in the business: Jim Wilcox and wildlife Artist Tucker Smith.
Jim has received many awards for his Art including a Best of Show at the Utah State Fair, Grand Prize at the Salt Lake County Fair and numerous Judges Choice and Sweepstakes Awards. Two of his paintings were purchased by Summit County for their Permanent Collection and are now hanging in the Summit County Courthouse in Coleville, Utah.
