Glourds By Valerie

Glourds are the work of Valerie Park. She is a local artist who currently lives in Salt Lake City. Valerie grew up in Park City and was constantly exposed to art. Her father was an art professor at the University of Utah, her mother owned the Old Town Gallery on Park City’s Main Street.  She is a mother of two children and is a special education teacher. Valerie has been working with gourds for three years and was inspired to work with gourds after attending a workshop on making gourd rattles for her shamanic training. Valerie has trained under many shamans in the past three years.

Each of Valerie’s glourds has its own personality.  Each gourd is hand selected, dried, cleaned, designed, carved, drilled, wood burned, varnished and wired by Valerie. They are excellent quality, and 100% handmade, unique artwork.  Handle with care because they are very fragile.  Use the glourd lanterns at your own responsibility. For indoor use, only use outdoors if protected from the weather, heat and humidity.  Only use LED bulbs because they do not emit much heat. glourdsbyvalerie@gmail.com
